Hello world, its me again The Market Ace.
Just dropped an absolutely BANGER of an album aptly titled "Surreally Real". This is my 50th album and I think its absolutely incredible (both sonically and as a personal accomplishment). As you know, the world flipped its shit with the Pandemic and nothing has really been the same since. I actually recorded most of this album in the late winter and early spring and finalized it during the early stages of quarantine. It took me quite some time to actually get it all up and online though due to so many crazy things happening all at once. I literally lost it (hard drive crash), and magically recovered it (thank god for external hard drives). I almost flipped out because of it and went on this very odd but very exciting journey. I went on mini sabbatical to Ashevile,North Carolina to sort of escape and find some peace. It was quite an adventure and I did a lot of soul searching when I was there. I met with some gurus and learned how to ground myself with this new reality. After returning home I reacquainted myself with old friends and family, realigned myself with what was really important to me and set off on a new mission to be the best I could be.
Its kinda funny, I actually had a completely different cover and name for this album but after a facetime convo with one of my Best Friends Stuart Soley (also an incredible artist, photographer and man in general) I changed everything. Literally and figuratively. The cover art is a magical shot titled "Until Sunrise". All of Stus work is incredible but for whatever reason this picture spoke to me in ways I can only begin to describe. I suggest you follow him on IG: stusoley (www.stusoley.com) and check out his family brand SOLEY ALOHA for awesome Maui Merch. IG: soleyaloha (www.soleyaloha.com) Shout outs to BIG STUBBIE STU for letting me use his art for this album cover
This album is really really special to me for so so many reasons. I love creating music and art all the time so when you hit certain personal milestones, it just makes you love it all the more. Its The Market Ace so you know its every electronic genre blended together for some wild ass score/soundtrack into the deep space of the subconscious...(You know how eye dooooo LOL)
So without further ado...Early contender for 2020 instrumental album of the year...the BIG FIVE O...The Market Ace presents...

2020....New Year...New Ace...Eternally Infinite
2020…New Year…New Ace….Just finished up this gem of an album appropriately titled “Eternally Infinite”. Like the name might suggests, it’s pretty heady brahh (lol). I recorded this album in the late fall of 2019 after an overall huge year for me personally, artistically and musically. I’m really proud of the direction both my art and music are going in and I can't wait to start recording again. This year I got to experience a lot of music from a plethora of artists from around the world, and I think this album reflects that with a solid showcase of diverse styles and sounds. Always on that gutter shit with a dash of psychedelia, sprinkle some dub in there, maybe a lil DnB, and top it off with some of that electro sauce and BAM….melts in your mouth. (and possibly your face)
The album’s tone as a whole I think is a bit on the darker side but with a solid influx of progressive transitions in every track. The album name itself reflects what I regard “the soul” to be….Eternally Infinite. It never dies and it goes on forever. That's where I feel my music comes from anyway, deep in my soul. The creation part is all fun and games but its existence and life in the universe is ultimately…. Eternally Infinite. Enjoy
More Summer Heat.....Orphans
Back at it again with another album to finish off the summer with! Numero 48....Orphans.
Orphans is a collection of b-sides, rarities and tracks that ultimately got cut or didn't fit with the sound of their respective projects at the time. To say the least, its an eclectic mix of the past 4 or 5 albums so its kind of all over the place, but I low key love the randomness of every track. We got house, we got dark trippy shit, we got dubstep, we got drum n bass, we got hip hop, we got it all! If you peep the track names, I definitely had some fun with these. (I pretty much always try and name them what they sound like in my imagination, or what would be going on in a movie with that particular track playing)
I named the album Orphans as an ode to the tracks previously not having a home/family/album, (being left off past albums) so it felt good finally giving them a "home".
This one's silly....Orphans...bump that shit!
New Album Alert!.....Exit Strategies
Album 47 has now been completed. “Exit Strategies” is a fifteen track sonic journey through the depths of my subconscious and into the abyss. It’s big, its dark, its trippy….it’s everything you never knew you wanted…lol.
As usual, it’s a hybrid blend of psychedelic and hip hop infused electronic instrumentals meant to be bumped (to eleven).
I recorded this album in the spring in of 2019 in congruence with a new collage project I’ve been busy with since the start of the year. (the reason it took longer than normal to put this album out).
The album title Exit Strategies is meant to be sort of an ode to what I think everyone (or at least me) at their core wants….freedom, and the methods or strategies in which you go about trying to attain it.
Whether it be trying to get out the rat race, go off the grid, or just ending something that no longer works for you…This album is about that…breaking the cycle of your current situation and exiting the simulation.
The tracks on this album are definitely on the heavier, darker side when compared to some of my past albums, but its peak summer time, so you gotta have the bangers baby!
The Ace is back….bump this shit.
New Ace for Autumn
And then there were 46….barely. This latest album “Disclosed Discovery” almost never made it due to a hard drive crashing as I was putting the final touches on the album. Thankfully I was able to recover everything, but for a few weeks I was pretty distraught that I lost everything I had been working on the past few months. Either way, its back and better than ever. Disclosed Discovery to me is a big album. It’s got lot of huge sounding tracks and as usual, it’s a good eclectic mix of a lot of different electronic styles and genres. For whatever reason, I feel as if this album is a bit more fun and playful than some of my more darker and introspective albums, but still consistent with gutter bangers throughout.
The albums meaning sort of stems from a lot esoteric knowledge I’ve come across over the past years and how it plays into existence, the self, and what everything really is, or really isn’t in the grand scheme of things. I’ve found it hard to share and relate these “discoveries” with others, so on a subconscious level I think I was trying to translate both the elation of discovery and the frustration of disclosure sonically on this album (whatever that means...lol). All existentialism aside, here’s my latest album “Disclosed Discovery”……enjoy.
Summer Heat...Delusional Realism
Back like Jordan wearin' the 45......45 albums that is. Just dropped the latest Ace installment, aptly titled Delusional Realism. This album I recorded in the late winter and early spring of 2018 and marks a return to the more aggressive side of my productions. Keeping the paradox theme alive, Delusional Realism is a statement piece representing how it feels to be a dreamer grounded by reality, stuck in some infinite loop of cognitive dissonance yearning to get out.
I structured this album with the first half or so being on the more aggressive/gutter side representing the delusional. The second half changes pace and is a bit more reserved and introspective embodying the realism. As usual, I've included a wide spectrum of sounds and styles that represent subsets of my favorite electronic genres. Each track has its own personality but still blends well into the overarching theme of the album. Take a listen....I think you'll enjoy it.
New Year...New Ace : Existence Resistance
Starting the New Year off right with a new album....."Existence Resistance". Existence Resistance is my 44th album and the latest installment in The Market Ace saga. I recorded this album in the fall of 2017 at a relatively dark period in my life. I look at this album as sort of a reflection of my situation and the inner turmoil that comes with life. I've found that some of my best work comes from a dark place, but rather than bask in it, I try and harness and channel it into something creative.
I named this album Existence Resistance after having an epiphany shortly after my 33rd birthday. It's a statement about how much of my life I've spent merely existing rather than actually living. This album reflects that epiphany and the journey to change the future, by embracing the present.
I did something a little different with this album also, in that every track is placed in chronological order as it was recorded. (aka track one is the first track I recorded and the last track is the last track I recorded). I felt like this better suited the theme and was more reflective of my state(s) of mind at the time. As usual, the album includes a wide variety of styles and genres and I'm really proud of the way it turned out.
Without further ado.......Existence Resistance.
New Ace for August...."Out There/Right Here"
After a bit of a hiatus, I’m back with the latest installment in The Market Ace saga. “Out There/Right Here” is my 43rd album and was recorded in the late winter and early spring months of 2017. The name itself, like most of my albums is an oxymoron/paradox, but to me, it’s sort of a self-reflecting definition of who I am (or at least who I think I am) as a person and as an artist. I structured the album so the contrasting styles of each track alternate between the two “categories”….out there/right here. One minute you might be hearing some dark bass driven track, the next you'll be hearing some chilled spacey track (and sometimes both within the same track).... Sort of an ebbs and flows or wavelike format to the styles and sounds heard on the album.
I personally consider Out There/Right Here to be more of a mellow and introspective album due to a majority of the spacey, down tempo ethereal vibes of a lot of the tracks. Not to say there aren’t a handful of gutter bangers in there, but the overall vibe I think is fairly chill in comparison to past albums.
Regardless of what I think about it……here’s what “Out There/Right Here” is all about….
Solstice Sounds

Intrinsically Tribal is more of a fun album compiled of a lot of alternative and b-side tracks that didn't quite fit the mold of past albums. Its a eclectic mix of beats from just about every genre (I even threw in a country banger). The word intrinsic means to naturally belong to something, so given that these tracks didn't "belong" it was only fitting. Tribal represents the very nature of humanity and music, one in which we all belong and partake in. So at the end of the day, all music no matter what it is, is Intrinsically Tribal and that's what this album is all about, being human.

40 Albums Later.....Altered Fates
And if you can't tell.... I'm still a fan of "the album" as opposed to dropping singles and half assed EPs. Almost all of my albums definitely have specific themes and vibes involved. Everything from the cover art to the track placement to the song names themselves. I consider them bodies of work.

Altered Fates is representative of life and the decisions we make based on the circumstances we are given. I feel as if everything has an energy and everything has wave-like fluidity. So ultimately when you learn to harness that energy to control or change your mindset/situation/thinking, you can ultimately alter your fate(s). If you know me then you know I've had a handful of "life changing" events in the past year that have totally made me reevaluate my outlook on life and what it means to be truly alive; an "altered fate" if you will.
All the existentialism aside....I'm really proud of this album as it contains a wide spectrum of emotions, styles, tones and energies.
So without further ado......From deep within the dark spaces of my warped psyche I present to you......Altered Fates.
